28 professional make-up artists work their magic at Baftas
28 professional make-up artists work their magic at Baftas Professional make-up artists used 151 mascaras, 105 eye shadows and 72 lipsticks at last year's Baftas and this year is likely to have been no different.

Lancome professional make-up artist Armand Beasley, head of the official beauty partner to the Baftas for the last ten years, tended to the faces of Kate Winslet and Anne-Marie Duff for the red carpet.

He had a team of 28 professional make-up artists working on the stars, making visits to the nominees at their homes an hotels, according to Wales on Sunday.

These days the experts have the added challenge of HD TV, as well as the bright lights, showing up every pore.

Keeping matte is essential. "We use anti-shine products, targeted on mattifying the T-zone, and even the eyelids, to give make-up longevity under the lights," Beasley told the newspaper.

Benjamin Rousseau is another of the Lancome professional make-up artists working on the stars and he recently told the Daily Mail that he recommended a recharging day cream for Gemma Arterton last year to restore smoothness.
