The range of cosmetic products designed specifically to suit black and Asian skin types is widening all the time, which may interest those seeking make up artists jobs in London and across the UK.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, experience make up artist Ruby Hammer, who is Asian, explained how in days gone by the choices available to ladies with darker skin tones were extremely limited. "Growing up in the 1970s, the sales assistants would try the deepest beige shade on my skin, just because it was the darkest one available. It was glaringly obvious it was the wrong colour," she told the newspaper.
For make up artists with clients who have darker skin, Ms Hammer recommended one of this season's top beauty trends – bold, red-orange lipstick.
Earlier this month, singer-turned-actress Christina Milian looked ravishing as she attended the premiere of Jumping the Broom.
Her radiant skin was accompanied by statement eyes in a smoky palette and perfectly-shaped eyebrows, finished off with a shiny pink pout.
