Demand grows for 'Brazilian Blowout' The latest haircare trend to take over the market is a new hair straightening product, which originates from South America and is known as the Brazilian Blowout.

According to the Edmonton Journal, this keratin-based treatment leaves hair silky smooth and curl-free for up to 12 weeks and even the celebs are falling over themselves to get a taste.

Professional hair stylist Susie Mancuso reported that the new trend is popular with stars such as Nicole Ritchie and Jennifer Aniston, and since then a lot of her customers have been asking for the treatment.

This new product has even been rumoured to possibly oust frizz-free must-haves such as hair straighteners and serum, both of which were revolutionary in the haircare world, professional hair stylists will be interested to hear.

"It's kinda like the first phenomenon since Vidal Sassoon came up with wash-and-go haircuts," said Christina Garies, hairstylist at the Icon Hair Gallery.

The price over in the US is currently between $300 (£200) and $450.
