Sometimes people can go over the top with their make-up and less can be more in certain circumstances.
Professional make-up artist Su Han has recommended a number of ways in which ladies can get the ideal "make under" look, RadarOnline.com has reported.
She advised staying away from either heavy foundation or cakey powder, instead opting to use tinted moisturisers and dotting concealer only where needed.
The professional make-up artist also suggested using eyebrow gel instead of pencil and powder, while recommending sheer pastel colours for the eyes during the daytime.
"You can just skip the eyeshadow altogether and keep it minimal with mascara only," she explained to the website.
For the lips, ladies should go for less pigmented lipgloss and avoid "over drawn lip liners".
Before applying make-up, ladies should ensure their skin is in good condition and cleansers, toners and moisturisers can all help, as pointed out by Martha Worboy, beauty expert for Canwest News Service.
