Good-quality makeup brushes 'are an investment'
Good-quality makeup brushes 'are an investment' Makeup artists have been advised that it is worth investing money in good-quality brushes as they can produce better results.

In an article for the Guardian, Sali Hughes explained how she is "passionate" about high-end beauty equipment.

"A good-quality brush will make cheap eye shadow go on like silk and allow Superdrug blusher to pass for Dior," she stated.

It was suggested that cheap brushed are "rarely properly weighted", which gives the user less control, while their bristles are often not domed, which makes blending hard.

The key brushes to invest in are blusher, liner, powder, eye shadow, slanted brow and flat concealer styles, according to Ms Hughes.

To get the best finish, users were advised to opt for natural bristles for powdery products and to apply waxy or liquid items with synthetic models.

For those keen to reduce the expense of purchasing decent equipment by investing in one item at a time, the concealer brush may be the first piece to buy, as Ms Hughes recently noted concealer is the "most important" beauty product for the face.
