Grunge roots are a 'top trend for professional hair stylists'
Grunge roots are a 'top trend for professional hair stylists' Professional hair stylists will surely be a fan of Drew Barrymore, due to the fact that she is a hair chameleon and that her latest style of grown-out roots has taken the red carpet both by surprise and by storm.

Amy Lawrenson, writing for Elle, reported on this striking trend and explained that brunettes are best suited to this shade as they can go gradually lighter towards the ends.

However she did add that blonde bombshells may fancy reversing the look by going dark at the tips, but warned professional hair stylists that the shade at the roots needs to be as close to the clients' as possible.

Toni & Guy have apparently honed this technique called 'Diamond Crest', which ranges from deep chocolate to hazelnut to caramel, finishing up with honey.

"It should be worn very tousled and textured for a more grungy feel" explains Lynsey Ashton, the international technical director who invented the technique.

Ms Lawrenson recently praised the star of Going the Distance for her contrasting looks and effortlessly edgy style which included loose plaits.
