The latest trend to hit the celeb red carpet is purple eyeshadow and eye liner, something which make-up professionals should consider recreating.
Sarah Jessica Parker went for mauve all around the eye as did Amanda Seyfried, whereas Rihanna went for a pale lilac and thick coats of mascara to emphasise her green eyes.
Professional make-up artist, Ruby Hammer, told Elle: "Purple eyeshadow makes hazel, green and brown eyes really stand out and brightens up the face."
She recommended Scarlet & Crimson's mauve trio to create a look similar to that of Nicole Richie or Rihanna, topped off with curled lashes and volumising mascara.
Amy Lawrenson, writing for Elle, added that this is a trend reminiscent of the 80s and therefore should not work, but somehow the A-listers have made it work and therefore so can many females across the nation.
Purple spread to Versace and Dior's Spring/Summer 2010 catwalks earlier this year, but until now the colour was relegated to clothing and accessories, whereas the celebs have transformed it from a fashion trend to a beauty essential.
