Professional hair stylists may see an increase in the number of women turning to the hair dye, with Rihanna showcasing a new edgy look recently.
The star, who rose to fame with Pon De Replay, has since grown into a universally-accepted style icon, especially with the weird and wonderful hair creations she seems to endlessly pull off.
Her make up artist Karin Darnell, speaking to Elle, explained that as Rihanna is still young she can afford to experiment with the fashions and beauty trends.
"She has been dying to go red for ages. It's a fun change for the summer, she's young so she likes to experiment with new looks," she said.
She added that for the Capital Summertime Ball to emphasise her new rock look, she used bright red lipstick, Dior Addict in Red Desire but explained that another of her favourites is Tom Ford's Cherry lipstick to finish off an image.
