Natural, minimalistic trend continues to gather steam
Natural, minimalistic trend continues to gather steam The trend for natural looks is gathering steam as professional make-up artists create a cosmetic version of the minimalist vision supported by the fashion industry.

Professional make-up artist Terry Barber, of MAC Cosmetics, told FT.com that this could partly be a reaction against the Wag look, as "no elegant woman would make up her whole face any more".

He said that there has been a return to the idea of shaping the face, but this time "there's an invisibility to it, thanks to textures that allow you to create something buffed and polished".

The professional make-up artist, who created the neutral shades at Alexander Wang, told the news provider that the trend is part of a modern approach to wanting make-up to look "like nature did it".

This preference for all things organic has also being seen in hair trends, with natural waves and beachy textures being fashionable at the moment.
