Professional make-up artists took natural looks from the catwalk to the red carpet at last night's Oscars.
There were plenty of silver, white and nude-coloured gowns as neutral shades continue to permeate fashion and make-up.
Sandra Bullock, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren strolled down the red carpet in silver, while Amanda Seyfriend and Jennifer Lopez wore strikingly similar white Armani Prive dresses. Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore shone in buff-coloured gowns.
Zoe Saldana was one of the stars to rock the natural look, teaming it with her champagne and purple Givenchy dress.
"We wanted to give her the sexy, sophisticated look, but fresh," professional make-up artist Vera Steimberg told the LA Times.
"So I concentrated more on her eyes and her skin, keeping colours neutral for the lips and cheeks," she added.
Ms Steimberg avoided using too much concealer and foundation to allow the skin to "show and glow", according to the newspaper.
A skin illuminator helped to make Ms Saldana's cheekbones stand out, and the professional make-up artist combined this with a muted pink lip colour.
