Professional hair stylists create 'interlacing' technique
Professional hair stylists create 'interlacing' technique "Interlacing" is emerging as the new technique in salons as women aim for a shimmery effect, according to a professional hair stylist.

Jane Stacey, TONI&GUY international technical director, said that this method involves plaiting the hair and then painting a colour lighter than the natural shade on the surface of the braid.

"The effect? Glitter being sprinkled on top of the surface of the hair," she explained.

This look is worn best with a wavy, tousled style to "catch the glints of colour in the light and give volume and movement", the professional hair stylist added.

She said the style was perfect for a spring/summer freshen-up.

According to the TONI&GUY trend report for the coming season, cuts are loose, lived-in and all about versatility.

Red shades are hotting up this season and blondes are "all about diffusion of tone". Highlights are seamless and fluid with "vanillaesque and cool, creamy finishes".
