Professional hair stylists 'in constant demand'
Professional hair stylists 'in constant demand' There is constant demand for professional make-up artists and hair stylists as the beauty industry is truly global, according to an expert.

Brad Masterson, vice-president of Y Public Relations on behalf of the Professional Beauty Association, told Metro Canada: "There are stylists that travel the world for many reasons, such as education for manufacturers, as well as those that do editorial work on photo shoots and movies."

Hairdressing and cosmetology are among the most reliable, enjoyable and advantageous international careers, according to the news provider.

Mr Masterson suggested that there would always be make-up artist jobs and work for hair stylists as beauty is a "service" that people need to have taken care of, regardless of the state of the economy.

He said that women are particularly unwilling to give up having their hair done. With people looking for work as a result of redundancies, they are also wanting to freshen up their appearance to make the best impression possible.

This is something that has been identified by Catherine Dean, marketing executive at health and beauty event The Vitality Show.

Attendance at the exhibition was on par with last year and Ms Dean said that this was a sign that women "will always find the time and the money to treat themselves".
