A top name in the hairdressing industry has told professional hair stylists that this season is all about 'strong styles' for men's hair, which are also utilised as "a fashion signature".
"This season it is all about juxtaposing retro styles with really modern and exaggerated textures, so enhanced volume, big curls, strong silhouettes et cetera. Men's hair is definitely being used as a fashion signature," Jody Taylor, TONI&GUY’s international artistic director and Hairdressers Journal's British Hairdressing Awards Men's Hairdresser of the Year 2010/11, said.
Mr Taylor added that professional hair stylists should enhance the natural texture of clients' hair with different products.
In addition, a survey by Brylcreem carried out for National Men's Hair Week found that X Factor star Harry Styles from band One Direction came out top for the best celebrity hair style.
The ninth annual survey also found that the show's Matt Cardle came in at number two, while Prince Harry made third place and Mark Ronson was named at number four.
