Professional make-up artist champions technique over technology
Professional make-up artist champions technique over technology Technique rather than technology determines how long lashes are, or how full lips look, according to a professional make-up artist.

Kate O'Reilly, who works freelance styling shoots for magazines and makeup editorials after training for three years with MAC cosmetics, told the Irish Independent that she is never swayed by adverts for the latest innovation.

She said that very rarely are there new products that come along with change the whole landscape of makeup.

"I think the key is technique rather than technology and it's not really how much you spend. You can get twenty different looks with one black eyeliner," the professional make-up artist told the newspaper.

She advised against changing products, instead recommending adapting the ones you already have as usually these cannot be beaten.

Meanwhile, professional make-up artist Robin Matthews has revealed to the LA Times that she did plenty of research before styling Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning as Joan Jett and Cherie Currie for new film The Runways.
