Professional make-up artist channels polar bear chic in Paris
Professional make-up artist channels polar bear chic in Paris Professional make-up artist Peter Phillips brought a taste of the North Pole to the faces of models for the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week.

Inspired by the fur and boots that featured heavily in Karl Lagerfeld's collection for the iconic French fashion house, Phillips channelled polar bear chic into the inventive look he created.

"The eye makeup is based on these boots in the collection that are inspired by a polar bear's nose," he told Allure magazine.

He applied dark grey shadow across the lid up to the brow bone and then used a brush to stipple black cream eyeliner from the crease along to the outer corner for a kooky, animalistic effect.

"I'm making little scratches and dots of color around the eyes, so the finish is quite splotchy," the professional make-up artist told the magazine.

The rest of the face was kept pale and wintry, with the exception of a rosy blush on the cheeks.

Lagerfeld once again pushed the boundaries for the Chanel show, importing an iceberg from Sweden which formed the backdrop at the Grand Palais.
