Professional make-up artist predicts 'anti-polished' trend
Professional make-up artist predicts 'anti-polished' trend There is an "anti-polished" movement going on in make-up at the moment, with celebrities in the UK choosing to mix bold colours and sport a messed-up look.

Professional make-up artist Georgina Graham told the Times that famous faces like Lois Winstone, daughter of Ray Winstone, are forging this trend for imperfect looks.

"It's about having fun, playing and enjoying yourself, and trying something different," she explained.

"This is like the safe, one-night stand of hair and make-up — it's a colourful fling," the professional make-up artist added.

However, she stressed that this movement did not mark a fundamental shift in make-up, it is a trend rather than a style.

Ms Graham said that the look would enter and disappear the fashion world like a hurricane, advising that people make the most of it while it's here.

Demonstrating that classic looks never really disappear, professional make-up artist Polly Osmond recently drew inspiration from Marilyn Monroe for the Tuleh spring 2010 show.
