Smoky brown eyes seem set to become a trend after a professional make-up artist created this look for Erin Fetherston's spring 2010 show.
Professional make-up artist Lucia Pica told Elle magazine that she was inspired by the images created by German-born professional photographer Helmut Newton.
The artist, who died in 2004, produced spreads for some of the world's top fashion magazines, including Vogue.
Describing the look she created, Ms Pica told Elle: "It's a Newton woman in soft focus."
To produce this effect she dusted the eyelids with brown shadow and rimmed the eyes with MAC Teddy and Coffee liners.
Ms Pica also went for a "light halo" around the eyes using a peachy bronzer on the upper cheekbones and kept the lips nude to soften the bold look.
She applied concealer on the edges of the lips so that puckers became less defined and to make the eyes stand out even more.
