Professional make-up artists 'could see rise in 40-plus customers' Posted by Maggie Lindsey

Professional make-up artists are likely to see an increasing number of 40-somethings due to this age group's confidence, an expert has suggested.

Karen Espley, director of Thirty10.com, has claimed that fewer women are consigning themselves to being "frumpyish fortysomething", with a growing number absolutely adoring fashion.

She said that people dress differently in this age group but that the fact it has a different aesthetic does not mean it cannot be attractive.

"Women in their forties do want to still look great. Once again I think there is a perception issue here," she explained.

In the past there was the belief that women were not interested in their appearance once they hit forty, but this generation is celebrating being at that age and looking great, Ms Espley said.

Recent research by QVC has found that 51 per cent women feel more beautiful as they get older and let go of their insecurities.ADNFCR-2992-ID-19898584-ADNFCR
