Professional make-up artists forward temporary tattoo trend
Professional make-up artists forward temporary tattoo trend Professional make-up artists could be called upon to apply temporary tattoos as they were a big trend on the catwalks.

Rodarte, Malandrino and Chanel shows all featured inked-on designs.

Professional make-up artist James Kaliardos said that the sleeve-style tattoos used on the Rodarte models had a tribal feel.

"It's Maori–meets–LA–gang," he explained.

Elle magazine reports that professional make-up artists used sponges to apply a water-resistant product, MAC Chromaline, over pre-cut patterns for the Rodarte and Malandrino shows.

They then dusted over these with translucent powder.

According to the magazine, the Chanel tattoos required more precise application.

The designs were transferred onto the skin using isopropyl alcohol, Elle explained. They were originally created by global creative director of Chanel Makeup, Peter Phillips.

Away from the catwalks, celebrities have also been tapping into the temporary tattoo trend. Sarah Jessica-Parker was seen sporting a design around her wrist at the Oscars.
