Jean Paul Gaultier's recent spring couture collection event featured models who were inspired by the punk movement and others who took their style from the can-can, those with make-up artist jobs will be interested to know.
The designer's I Am an Anarchist show was held in Paris on the last day of the couture shows and featured creations with names like Moulin Rouge and Joy Division.
One model hit the catwalk wearing her hair braided and styled into an elaborate mohawk, using what appeared to be an extremely strong gel. She also wore large drop earrings and several others running up the length of her ear. The model displayed a daring flash of red lipstick and heavily lined eyes, while the rest of her face was bare.
Another model wore a white fluffy can-can dress with a red design on the underside of the skirt. She also had red lipstick, red hair and blue fishnet tights.
Mr Gaultier also used androgynous model Andrej Pejic for the show, who stars in a current ad campaign for the designer where he wears a trench coat and his long blonde hair loose around his shoulders.
