The skills of the professional make-up artist were on show at Paris Haute Couture Week this year, with John Galliano's collection for Christian Dior proving a particular eye-opener.
Dior's show was as striking for its make-up as for its Equestrian theme, which proved a hit with the audience.
Professional make-up artists working for the Dior team opted for a pale, porcelain finish for the model's faces, combined with a deep red lip, coloured eyes and long, dark lashes.
Greens, blues, lilacs and smoky greys all featured on the eyelids of the Dior models, clashing with the bold hues of the designs.
For the more demure, pastel collection, the red lip was removed in favour of a nude shade and the eye colour was toned down with a more frosty hue.
Model Kate Moss was among the stars enjoying Paris Haute Couture this week, where she also launched her new range of bags for French brand Longchamps.
