Professional make-up artists told of facial hair removal techniques
Professional make-up artists told of facial hair removal techniques Professional make-up artists have been told that facial hair is a serious problem for millions of women, and it is becoming the ultimate beauty taboo.

Anne Shooter, writing for the Daily Mail, said that ladies are prepared to discuss anything, from bikini waxes to bedroom issues, however, facial hair is a topic which is often sidestepped.

"It might be they have a problem such as polycystic ovaries, which encourages hair growth; testosterone can cause it; or they may have a genetic disposition towards it. And because facial hair in women is taboo, there is not enough information around about the best ways to remove it," added Natasha Kapur, from London's Whittington Hospital and the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.

Ms Shooter went on to highlight a number of ways in which people can combat a hairy top lip, including laser treatment, waxing, intense pulsed light and depilatory cream.

Recently, a blog posting for Mercury News by Dr Donohue said that female facial hair can indicate hormone imbalance.ADNFCR-2992-ID-800248250-ADNFCR
