Professional makeup artists have been told that the top trends for A/W 2010 are varied and colourful and "supremely sexy".
The Allure blog has explained that from eyes to lips to cheeks, colour is the main theme for the forthcoming season and the smoky eye smudged look is "pure sex kitten".
Team flawless skin with colourful shadows on the eye, in the form of bold shades such as lavender, moody grey and fuchsia, and the on-trend lip colours are equally vibrant.
"Shades like bright fuchsia, tangerine orange, and deep burgundy are definitely daring, but they can be supremely sexy, too. (Just check out the wine-stained lips at the fall Proenza Schouler show for proof)," the blog asserted.
For the cheeks, professional makeup artists were told that bright pinks are youthful, especially when flecked with gold shimmer, alongside the recommendation of The Body Shop's Petal Blush.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Tilbury, a makeup artist for Donna Karan and Moschino, suggested that understated glamour is the main theme for A/W 2010 – think minks, greys and taupes.
