Dolce and Gabbana's Milan show saw one of the staple trends of the past year given a new twist by professional make-up artist Pat McGrath.
The classic combination of strong, red lips and defined eyes was given an outing for the show, but the signature look was given a more realistic finish.
Professional make-up artist Pat McGrath said the designers wanted to go for a down-to-earth feel.
"It's the way real women wear make-up, not so perfectly applied as we normally do here. But still gorgeous and radiant," she explained.
The professional make-up artist applied black eyeliner along the top lashes and winged it out at the top corners, then applied taupe powder around the eyes. A dab of highlighter was also added to the lids.
For the red pout she mixed three Dolce and Gabbana lipsticks: Dahlia (deep merlot), Ultra (rich, dark red), and Devil (classic blue-red).
Pat McGrath also worked on the models for the Bottega Veneta collection in Milan, going for a street sexy look.
