People training to become a professional makeup artist will probably be asked to create a range of different looks for various occasions.
When it comes to making a simple yet naturally elegant appearance, they may wish to follow some of the tips offered by celebrity makeup artist Christian Zamora from Courtney Akai Lash Boutique in an article for Hollywood life.
He explained a "luminous, soft-skin look" requires the use of some moisturiser mixed with foundation as it gives a sheer coverage.
A translucent powder should be dusted over the face to set the makeup, while a pale pink blush should be swept along the apples of the cheeks and up to the top of the bone.
Mr Zamora recommended swapping lipsticks and pencils for a "sheer and supple gloss", while eyes need a "beautifully soft" beige colour that is applied out the outside corner and lightly brushed up to the end of the brow.
Model Iman also revealed her makeup secrets recently, telling Style Bistro that bronzer is a must-have as it makes the skin come alive.
