Professional hair stylists need to do all they can from preventing the harsh winter conditions ruining their clients' mane, according to an expert.
Alison Tyler, writing for the Daily Mail, said that the shine can fade, making way for split ends and a "brittle cloud of frizz".
Covering up with a hat can make the problem worse too, as this leaves the top of the head oily and static, and the bottom dry and exposed to the elements.
"Just like you’d up your moisturiser to fight the chill winter wind, your hair deserves a thirst-quenching boost, too," Ms Tyler added.
After trying out a recent treatment, she stated that her hair was restored to the most glossy finish she had ever seen. "I've already booked in for another [appointment] next month", she continued.
Fashion fans wary of the weather have been told that temperatures could dip below minus 20C this week, following one of the coldest Novembers for 25 years.
