I am a 21 year old student currently studying Art at University. I work on the beauty department at House of Fraser selling fragrance/apothecary products. I would love to work on one the beauty counters but the hours are too much to fit around university but I often cover counters such as Laura Mercier, Benefit, Clarins, Chanel, Lancome and Estee Lauder. As I am employed by House of Fraser, not the beauty concessions, I cannot apply make-up to customers, which is frustrating as I know what I am doing. But I am extremely knowledgeable in make-up and skincare products so I always offer extensive advice to the customers who accept my words gratefully.
I wish to pursue my interest in beauty when I graduate in 2013, although I am currently corresponding with a beauty school which teaches the essential Beauty Therapy Level 2 in evening classes, which would be perfect as I would be able to fit this in around work and uni.
I love make-up and the effects you can achieve. I have always been passionate in this field, especially in the past few years when I have began to take this hobby seriously and have began considering a career in the field.
Starting out is going to be the hardest part. I know I can apply make-up, but at the moment I have no qualifications in the field, so employers/clients may be put off by this. So hopefully having this account may help promote myself and my skills.
